FUNDING

Through the use of private dollars, we’re able to broaden the criteria to offer short-term microloans in the amounts of $2,500 to $25,000 to qualified minority business owners, who may not otherwise qualify for traditional lending, to grow their businesses while also improving their financial profile. Business owners who qualify may use the funds to purchase inventory, equipment, materials and other supplies necessary to grow their enterprises. To be considered, businesses must:

• Be legally-structured for-profit entities as defined by the Kansas Secretary of State’s Office
• Be in business for at least six months prior to application
• Be socially and/or economically disadvantaged, as described the U.S. Small Business Administration
• Be located within the Wichita City limits as described by the City of Wichita, particularly within zip code 67214
• Be free from bankruptcies within the past seven years 
• Possess a credit score of at least 540 
• Must be free from delinquencies for at least six months prior to application
• Agree to receive business development assistance through the Create Campaign or participating partner (i.e. Kansas Small Business Development Center, SCORE Mentors, NetWork Kansas, the Center for Entrepreneurship at Wichita State University, etc.)
